Why don't people respect me at work even though I do good work?

Because respect and recognition of work quality are formed from different mechanisms. Work quality gets assessed over time; respect is formed from signal — posture, language, how you respond to challenge, how you claim your contributions. If the signal reads lower than the work, the respect doesn't follow.

How long does it take to earn respect at work?

Initial reads form quickly — sometimes in your first week in a role — and calcify fast. Changing an established read takes consistent, deliberate signal shifts sustained over weeks rather than a single impressive moment.

Can you earn respect without being aggressive or dominant?

Yes. Respect is formed from legibility, not dominance. The room respects people whose signal is clear and unhurried — who appear to know their own value without needing to demonstrate it through force.

Why does a less competent colleague get more respect than me?

They are almost certainly more competent at the signal layer. How they take up space, how they describe their work, how they respond when challenged — these are generating a higher-authority read than their output would warrant.

What's the first thing to change?

Start with your opening. The first few words of any contribution — in a meeting, in an email, in a hallway conversation — set the status frame for everything that follows. Removing hedging language and apology framing from your openings shifts the read faster than almost any other single change.

Is this different from standard workplace confidence advice?

Card details are entered on the secure authorization page of the bank. To make a payment, you must enter your card details: card number, cardholder name, expiry date, and three-digit security code.

The three-digit security code, CVV2 for Visa or CVC2 for MasterCard, is the three digits located on the back of the card. If the card supports 3D Secure technology, additional authentication may be required.

The personal information you provide, for example your name, address, phone number, email address, bank card number and other details, is confidential and will not be disclosed. Card details are transmitted only in encrypted form and are not stored on this website.

Refund Policy

Once access to the educational program, learning materials, platform, community, sessions, feedback, consultations or other elements of the service has been provided, the corresponding part of the service is considered rendered and is non-refundable.

If the Client chooses not to continue with the program, a refund may be requested only for the part of the service that has not yet been provided, where such refund is applicable under the terms of the offer and applicable law.
